What it does

This is the cutter most of our buyers pick. The body is die-cast aluminium in an ABS shell. The SK5 blade has a pointed tip that starts the cut, then the ratchet carries it through.

It handles PVC, PEX, PE and rubber hose up to 2-1/2 inch outside diameter.

It is a step in one of our job rows: Cut PVC and PEX to length.

Good to know before you buy

  • Tighten the blade screw before the first cut. A loose blade wanders.
  • Keep the cut at least 1.5 inches from the end of the pipe.
  • It will not cut metal pipe.

Works Great

Works great for cutting up to 2" pvc pipe - much easier and cleaner than using a hacksaw. It's a sturdy tool and is holding up well for me under moderate use. It can be operated with one hand, but it's a bit tricky to learn and it helps if you have larger hands. Even so, it makes the job of cutting pvc pipe SO MUCH easier. Great purchase.

Good for light duty - worked great for me

Easy to use and cut pvc pipe easily. However, the cuts were not exactly square and the blade was a little wobbly. This worked great for me on 40 or 50 cuts on 1.5" pipe where the cuts didn't need to be perfect. For daily use over a long period of time or where precision is needed I'm not sure if this would hold up.

Easy to use

These took me a little trial and error to figure out how to work the location of the blade because it pops into different locations depending on how you move the pieces, but after about 3 minutes I was able to use this easily.
